The Camp

Your home above the mara

Set high on the escarpment above the Mara Triangle, Mara West is a Masai Mara safari camp designed for settling in and enjoy the rhythm of life in the Mara. Between safaris, there’s time to slow down—share a meal outdoors, relax by the pool, watch wildlife wander through camp, or simply enjoy being here.

Dining and Gathering

come together. stay awhile.

Meals at Mara West are as much about gathering together as they are about the food. Lunch is usually served outside on the lawn, where giraffe, zebra, impala, and mongoose often wander nearby. In the evening, dinner moves inside Kingfisher, our dining lodge, while the fire pit offers a relaxed place to sit, talk, and spend a little more time together.

Poolside

a slower side to safari

Between safaris, the pool is an easy place to slow down and enjoy a quieter side of camp life. Take a swim, settle in with a book, or stop by Twiga Coffee Shop for a coffee or cold drink. The pool area includes one large swimming pool and two smaller solar-heated pools, giving everyone a place to relax and recharge before heading out again.
