Mara West Camp has 8 luxury Chalets- (6 twin Chalets, fully furnished with two queen beds each, 1 Family Chalet, and 1 suite with a king size bed suitable for honeymooners). All the 8 Chalets are perched in secluded spots on an escarpment edge overlooking the vast plains of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, giving tremendous views and a sense of private exclusion.
The rooms offer full bathroom facilities are en-suite with flush toilets and large spacious showers, complete with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. A wide front verandah overlooks Masai Mara’s vast plains below, providing spectacular views of the sunrise and glimpses of giraffe, elephant, gazelles, impalas and wildebeest as they roam the plains.
The Family Chalet has two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a King size bed for the parents and the second bedroom has 2 queen size beds for the children. It also has a kitchenette complete with a fridge, stove, microwave and comfort food provided so that the kids can be put to bed early if needed, and the parents can enjoy a private dinner and socialize with other guests around the campfire. Babysitting services are also available in the evenings.
The camp is privately owned and managed by the Aho family, Americans who have spent over 20 years living and working in Africa. Designed, built and furnished by the owners, the camp is the outcome of their many years working together with African communities and traveling throughout the vast continent of Africa.
